Learner drivers are now allowed on Motorways

In August 2017, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) announced that learner drivers will be allowed to take motorway driving lessons with an approved driving instructor (ADI) in a car with dual controls from 4th June 2018.

It’s still illegal for a learner driver to drive on a motorway unless they are accompanied by a DVSA ADI driving a appropriate vehicle fitted with dual controls.
